DYK Session

Like I said before, DYK Session is stand for Do You Know Session. Actually I have made few changes on my presentation title and its content. After made a few survey, I believe most of us does not know about PHISHING.
Phishing is not similar with fishing even though the pronounce is similar. I believe most of us has set our mind that "phishing" is similar to catch the fish. From now on, we should change our thinking that, phishing is one of the SERIOUS cyber crime in the world.
The concept of phishing and fishing is quite similar where the act is to catch, to get, and to obtain. As we know, fishing is the act to catch the fish, while phishing is the act to obtain or to steal personal information.
There is no other way to avoid phishing unless we aware with the phishing look like so that we will never trapped with this crime.

Type of Phishing

  • Deceptive Phishing >> Phishing from email or instant messaging
  • Phone Phishing >> Receive a phone call from unknown person which claim that she is insurance agent
  • Search Engine Phishing >> click on the url that appear in browser rather than enter the URL by yourselves
  • Keyloggers and Screenloggers >> someone has install the software that might be capture all the work that you have done on your PC.
  • and etc :)
Phishing Trapped?

For example, if we have trapped with phishing on social network, such as, facebook, twitter or other social network, PLEASE login back with the correct page, correct URL of the social network, and please IMMEDIATELY change your password. please be remembered that password for every account must be change at least once in a month for security purposes.

For those who received a phone call after working hours which claim they are the insurance agent, please do not easily trust them.
Do not easily give your personal information like bank account number, credit card number, ic number as well as our address.
Please google'ing the suspicious telephone number that has called us.

I think i'm the lucky one because I almost trapped with the phone phishing, but I realized that their statement is beyond of the limit and it's does not make sense. :) :) :)

P/S: Just waiting for my update soon.... :)
